Su carrera art\u00edstica abarca el jazz, blues, funk, rock y world music.<\/p>\n<p>Es miembro fundador del reconocido Drummers Collective NYC, donde fue profesor durante 25 a\u00f1os. Actualmente es profesor de bater\u00eda en la Escola Superior de Musica de Oporto (Portugal), donde tambi\u00e9n ha sido director del departamento de jazz. Es fundador y director art\u00edstico de The International Drum Academy de Lisboa.<\/p>\n<p>Michael ha actuado y\/o grabado con Paul Anka, Chuck Berry, Charles Brown, Tom Jones, Tom Harrell, Bob Stewart, Teo Macero, Bob Mintzer, Bill Frisell, Mike Stern, Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos, Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve, Jorge Costa Pinto Big Band, The Mario Santos Quintet, The Hugo Alves Quartet, 2 Tubas &amp; Friends, y muchos otros. Ha dirigido sus propias bandas, incluyendo Bashier, Magister Ludi, y The Michael Lauren All Stars, cuyo \u00e1lbum de debut \u201cOnce Upon A Time In Portugal\u201d fue elegido uno de los diez mejores discos nacionales (Portugal) en 2016.
